Environment Manager:
This would be used
to configure personalization and all environment related changes in different
type of OS's.
- While creating demo profile we have to makesure that at AD level his mandatory or roaming profile not configured. Make all mandatory changes after login using that blank user profile Ex: Office activation, Proxy setup, Default IE page setup because this would be used as a base profile.
- Login with another user and delete all the profiles except base user profile using mycomputer properties.
- Go to demo user profile folder and copy "NTUSER.dat" because that would contain all important profile changes registry setting during system setup using demo user login.
- Copy file at appsence share folder and copy this NTDS file.
- First operation is to go at appsence AD server rename it to "*.man"
- Goto regedit and navigate to HKEY_USER and upload copied\remned registory hive.Give New Name
- Right click and give permission to "domain users" & Everyone >>Goto Advanced and select user include inheritable and Replace Child object permissions full control.
- Unload the hive so that all changes would be saved. We can remove rest of the files which would be there as a backup.
- Follow same procedure for other OS, Appsence is intelligent enough to identify the nature of user is coming from and accordingly sevre the profile for Win7,XP etc OS.
- There is a way to provide application from local system without using any tool like AppV,Citrix for that you have to set copy\map operation while system startup and all bundles would start showing in system as local and from there over all software package would open for end user as local not stream.
- HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SoftGrid\4.5\Client\ here you would found Key named as "AllowIntdependantfilestreaming" and set it's value to 1.
- Goto enable personalization & other mandatory stuff is to add administartor and kep him at to of hiraricy so that no policy related changes would apply for him. Right click goto condition>>User>>Select administartor>>Move up butoon to set admin at top layer.
- Session Data section is used for saving all the registry changes related session data
- Desktop Setting related
- Must check IIS page is opening for Appsence server
- Firewall should be opening
- Every component have two parts one is Management Console & Second is Management Server configuration
- Appsence have four component and every component need configuration first
Management Centre:
Used to apply all the changes made under any console
App\Environment\Performance
- While running server configuration first time you may see some error cross signs select autofix option
- While setting authentication make sure you select domain wide.
- Get database ready and make your self as DB admin before we start writing anything in schema
- Create a service account\group which would be used for day to day operation and add that account during initial configuration of Appsence
